Maharashtra government is planning on introducing their own common entrance test and wishes to withdraw itself from the joint entrance exam (JEE) held by the CBSE. Mr. Vinod Tawde, The minister for higher and technical education of Maharashtra ensures that the new plan for admission in the colleges associated with MHTCET will be done from 2017. Till 2013 the state was conducting its own exams. Post implementation, around one lakh of the students will be relieved who wants to enroll in the engineering colleges.
