The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) conducts a national level entrance exam for admission to its 2-year fully residential MBA programme at its Delhi and Kolkata campuses. The official prospectus mentions a new campus in Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh) as well which is not functional currently.
The registration process has already commenced from 6th August 2018 and the last date for application is 24th September 2018. The exam will be conducted on December 2, 2018.

The entrance exam will be a paper-based objective type test for 2 hours. The final selection is done on the basis of candidate’s performance in the MCQ Test, Group Discussion, Writing Skill Assessment and Personal Interview.
Pattern of IIFT 2017 test:
The total duration of the test was 2 hours and it covered the following sections:
- Verbal Ability
- Reading Comprehension
- Data Interpretation
- Logical Reasoning
- Quantitative Ability
- General Knowledge and Current Affairs
It is to be noted that in the year 2017, it was for the first time that IIFT had six different cut-offs for the six sections. Below is a table which provides the cut off for 2017.

The number of questions in each section as well as the total number of questions is not fixed and varies every year. E.g. last year, the total number of questions asked was 114 and a year before it was 123.
Selection Process:
The entrance procedure of IIFT 2019-21 is a three-stage process:
- The written test covers the area of Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability, English and General Awareness.
- Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of the scores obtained in the written test for the process of Group Discussion Personal Interview, and Writing Skill Assessment.
- Final selection is based on the overall performance of the candidate in the Written Test, Writing Skill Assessment and the GD-PI process.
Eligibility Criteria for IIFT-MBA 2019-21
To appear in the exam, a candidate must satisfy the eligibility criteria mentioned below:
- Candidate should have a recognized graduation degree of minimum 3 years in any discipline.
- He/she should score a minimum of 50 percent marks in their graduation. For reserved category candidates, it is 45 percent.
- Candidates appearing in the final year examination of graduation can also apply subject to submission of proof of requisite qualification by the last date.
- There is no age restriction to appear for this exam.
