SSC CHSL 2016- Tier I Exam Over all Analysis 10th January 2017

Today marked the fourth day, 10th January, for SSC CHSL Tier I Exam. The exam is being conducted for the recruitment for the posts of LDC, DEO, Postal Assistant and Court Clerk, through this exam.

Beginning from this session, SSC has changed the mode of examination to online instead of pen and paper. Starting from today, the online exam will be conducted in three shifts. All three shifts now being over, we are here providing you with an analysis for the exam to help you improve your preparation level.

Candidates sat in large numbers for these exams at various centres countrywide. To go through the actual questions first, you can refer to the earlier posts where we have already enumerated the various questions.

Let's Start: SSC CHSL Tier I Exam Analysis ( 10th January)

Similar to yesterday, today also, a few server glitches and technical issues cropped up which resulted in frustration for many aspirants. Owing to the user based reviews and the analysis of the exam, it can be said that the paper remained moderate for today.

1. General Intelligence & Reasoning 

The questions asked followed the previous patterns only, without any new type of question. Overall level remained easy only.  We enlist below the topics and the difficulty level associated with the questions.

Keep in Mind for the questions that were asked:

  1. Similar to yesterday, mirror images and matrix remained popular in the exam today as well. The candidates are therefore asked to brush up their skills for this section to save time and correctly solve the questions.
  2. Classification and series were also moderate to handle. A quick review and practice would help improve your score.
  3. A generous time limit of 15 to 18 minutes should be enough for this section and candidates must therefore time themselves accordingly.

2. General Awareness 

Encompassing all the general topics for this section, no new surprises were present in this section. Thus, for the well prepared, the level ranged from moderate and leaned towards easy.

Keep In Mind:

  1. Oscar related details have been quite popular for these past days. Candidates are therefore, suggested to devote some time to current affairs as well, in addition to static GK.
  2. For improving prospects in the selection for LDC, clerk and postal assistants posts, do try to brush up the knowledge on topics such as polity, general science through the various quizzes on the gradeup App.
  3. Questions are not obscure enough to be labelled as difficult and an attempt of 15 to 17 would be considered well enough. 20 – 22 correct attempts, would definitely boost your chances at selection.

3.  Quantitative Aptitude 

Overall level for this section again remained moderate for a majority of the aspirants. Focus on geometry also remained popular for this time in the section.

Keep In Mind:

  1. Geometry along with trigonometry remained popular in today’s session. A brief review on the basics of the identities and formulae would greatly help your chances.
  2. DI and mensuration could also be targeted as easy, thereby allowing the candidates more time for the rest of the sections and other questions.
  3. Miscellaneous topics of SI and CI and profit loss also remained in focus. The aspirants are thereby directed to go through the basics, here itself on the GradeUp App.
  4. As always, a practiced mind was imperative for the calculation part, and a good attempt of 18 to 20 questions could have been completed within 25 to 30 minutes.

4. English Comprehension

The level of this section remained Easy to moderate for most of the candidates. With commonly used phrases and without any much difficult vocabulary, the section was a walk in the park for many.

Keep In Mind:

  1. Please brush up the past quizzes to gain an overview on your level of practice on the popular topics.
  2. Candidates are suggested to improve their skills in topics such as narration and voice.
  3. Another topic of interest remained within the vocabulary portion of the section. Therefore, expanding your vocabulary would help you expand your grasp over the basics and also score more better.
  4. A well attempted section for today would be 19-20.

NB: The paper level although remained same as yesterday. However, the aspirants are advised to continually improve the level of GK, from here on the GradeUp App as the level of questions have been rising gradually.

Note: The level of the exam of the first shift was easy. An overall good attempt will be 75+.
