RRB NTPC Mains Exam Over all Analysis 18th January 2017

By Sandeep Baliyan|Updated : January 18th, 2017

Dear aspirants,

Today, 18th January 2017, was the second day for the RRB NTPC mains exams. The exam which was supposed to take place in three shifts, conducted its three shifts as per the schedule.

We here are providing you a one stop resource for today’s analysis for all the three shifts of the exam, along with the overview and enlisting different questions asked during these shifts. All this was collected from the data that you aspirants provided, and you are thus requested to point out any anomalies that may be present in the article, along with any other justified updates.

Starting off, the overall level for the paper remained easy for all the three shifts, with the only moderately tough section being GK.

Many candidates, discussed about the focus being shifted to 2016’s current affairs instead of the year 2015, as was the case the last day.

Today, another important fact was witnessed. The level of Quantitative Aptitude section was said to be calculative and concept based, even though the level of this section remained easy. Not just this, many were left frustrated owing to the time taken to solve the math based questions. Future aspirants are thus duly requested to focus not only on the concept building portion for this section, but also on the time management strategy.

Many aspirants complained of not getting a fixed pattern for the exam. This was suggested based on the varying number of questions for each section in each shift. Also helping this argument, was the lack of clear demarcation between the different sections. Many reported that all the sections were all mixed.

We now start on the section wise analysis and enlist the questions:

The three sections from which the candidates were posed question from, are as follows:

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning
  • General Awareness
  • Quantitative Aptitude

With a composite time of 90 minutes, a total of 120 questions were supposed to be attempted by the candidate.

General Intelligence and Reasoning

The only section which unanimously gained a positive review today. The level for this section remained easy, owing to direct questions being asked. Candidates were posed questions from nearly all the topics of the syllabus. We here are tabulating only a few of them.
