Australian Open 2017 tournament recently concluded on 29th January 2017 in Melbourne, Australia.It is an annual tennis tournament that is played on outdoor hard-courts at Melbourne Park since 1972. Australian Open 2017
Australian Open, the first grand slam of the year is a two week affair and was conducted between 16th - 29th January 2017. The tournament was conducted by International Tennis Federation (ITF) and was a part of ATP World Tour 2017 and 2017 WTA Tour Calendars under the Grand Slam Category.This tournament started in 1905 and this was the 105th edition of Australian Grand Slam. The tournament consists of events for professional players in singles, doubles and mixed doubles categories. Prize Money for this year’s Australian Open has been increased by 14% as that of 2016. The total prize money now stands at 50 million Australian Dollars (USD $37 millions). The event also included Junior and Wheelchair players, who competed in singles and doubles tournaments.
Last year’s defending champions, Novak Djokovic and Angelique Kerber lost their matches to Denis Istomin and Coco Vandeweghe in the second and fourth round respectively.

Also known as Roland Garros, this tournament will be conducted in May - June at Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France.Founded in 1891, this is the second championship played on clay-court, of the four annual grand slam events. Last year’s prize money for this event was 30,717,500 Euro. Novak Djokovic (Serbia) & Garbiñe Muguruza (Spain) won this tournament in Singles category last year.
Wimbledon
The oldest tennis tournament, The Championships, Wimbledon is also commonly known as Wimbledon. Played on outdoor grass courts, this event has been held at the All England Club in Wimbledon, London since 1877. Last year’s Prize money for this event was 28,100,000 Pound Sterling. This tournament is organised in June-July. Andy Murray (United Kingdom) and Serena Williams (USA) won this tournament in Singles category last year.
US Open
Founded in 1881, United States Open Tennis Championships is a hardcourt tennis tournament. This is the fourth and final grand slam of the year. This event is conducted in August-September. Last Year’s prize money for this event was $ 46,300,000. Stan Wawrinka (Switzerland) and Angelique Kerber (Germany) won this tournament in Singles category last year.
