FAQs for JEE Main 2019 by National Testing Agency

JEE Main 2019 is to be conducted by National Testing Agency starting 2019. National Testing Agency (NTA) has taken over CBSE from 2019. The National Testing Agency has invited JEE aspirants to apply the JEE Main 2019 - January application form. The last date to apply for JEE Main 2019 January application form is 30th September 2018. JEE Main is a gateway to admission to IITs through JEE Advanced.

1. How many times can I appear for JEE Main 2019? What is the total number of attempt for JEE Main 2019? 
Answer:
Starting in 2019, JEE Main will be conducted twice a year. However, whether you appear once or twice in an academic year, it will be counted as only one. The total number of attempts still remains three (in consecutive years), given a candidate fulfills the eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2019.

2. What is the eligibility for JEE Main 2019? 
Answer: 
a) Those candidates who have passed class 12th examination / equivalent examination in 2017, 2018 or appearing in 2019 for class 12th / equivalent examination are eligible for JEE Main 2019 - January and JEE Main 2019 - April.
b)Those candidates who appeared in 2016 for class 12th / equivalent examination and failed in 2016, passed in 2017 are not eligible for JEE Main 2019. 
c) Age limit:  There is no age limit for JEE Main 2019 - January and JEE Main - 2019 April Examination. Only criteria: The candidate must have cleared class 12th or equivalent examination in 2017, 2018 or going to appear in 2019. 

3. If I am going to appear for class 12th in 2019, am I eligible to appear for JEE Main 2019 - January? 
Answer: Yes

4. If a candidate has passed in 2018 and appearing for improvement in 2019. Is he eligible?
Answer: Yes

6. Where to practice JEE Main 2019 mock test by NTA? 
Answer: 
The National Testing Agency has announced the Test Practice Center(TPC). You can register for TPC and thus you can practice a mock test. Check out the below link for registration.

7. Wha is the normalization procedure for JEE Main 2019? How will the result be decided?
Answer: 
Starting 2019, the final rank of JEE Main 2019 will be listed based on the normalization procedure. The normalization procedure can be checked out by click over the below link

8. Has there been any change in the JEE Main Syllabus?
Answer:

9. Is it necessary to appear twice for JEE Main in 2019 - January and April?      
Answer: 
No it is not necessary to appear in JEE (Main) twice. This would be optional for the candidate to appear once or twice for the current academic session. In case a candidate appears in both the tests, the better of the two scores will be used for the admissions and eligibility for JEE (Advance)-2019 they have attempted both the examinations, best of the scores would be taken for the merit list.

10. Will the counseling procedure by JoSAA change? 
Answer: 
No. The JoSAA Counselling procedure will remain the same as earlier.
