Subject: received phishing email
Sir,
With due respect, I would like to report the receipt of a phishing email which I received on [November 6, 2018 : 4:25 Pm] at abc@gmail.com. The email had the bank name and your banner with its logo. Hence I assumed it was sent by your bank. The email stated that the KYC details needed to be updated urgently in order to continue operating the account. As per the instructions in the text of the email, I provided my personal details, including name, contact information, my bank account number, ATM card number and password.
Today I checked the balance in my account [xxxxxxx6789] and was horrified to see that the balance showed a deficit of Rs.20,000/-. I had not withdrawn any money at all from the account. It is obvious that some third party has accessed my account. I realize that the email I received supposedly from your bank was a fake one and thus have got cheated by a scam. I request you to immediately place a block on my account as well as a block on my ATM card transactions. I will also contact the local Cyber Crime unit of the police to register my complaint against the phishing.
I am attaching to this letter a print out of the phishing email which I received.
Please let me know what further steps I need to take to protect my account
Thanking You
Your truly
