Know More

Green mobility refers to those mobility options that emit lower emissions  in terms of carbon dioxide than pure internal combustion of engine vehicles through the use of alternate fuels , drive train technologies or other measures such as Bio-Fuel methanol based mobility , compressed Natural gas(CNG) based mobility, Electric and Hybrid Mobility , Hydrogen energy and fuell cell based mobility.

In India’s context using green mobility will decrease India’s oil dependency. Electricity  vehicles would reduce vehicular emission and will address the issue of air pollution as well as be and end to end solution to address the issues of climate change by cutting down greenhouse emissions. Shifting to electric vehicles need to establish charging station to start with which can creates jobs for lakshs of enmtrepreneurs.Using electric vehicles will reduce operating costs.

National electric mobility mission 2020, FAME( faster adaptation and manufacturing of hybrid and electric vehicles in india) are some initiatives taken by Government of india. But there are challenges associated with adaptation. Low demand ,limited infrastructure, limited supply of vehicle and components and people unaware of benefits of using electric vehicles impeding governments initiatives.

China and Netherland are best examples for shifting to green mobility. Consumer awareness about  benefits of using electric vehicle should be increased. There is need to improve infrastructure.
