Tips & Strategy to Crack CTET 2020 in 30 days

CTET जुलाई 2020 को 31 जनवरी 2021 के लिए निर्धारित किया गया है, और हम मानते हैं कि आप सभी पूरी लगन के साथ आगामी परीक्षा की तैयारी कर रहे हैं। सीटीईटी जुलाई 2020 के लिए लगभग 30 दिन बचे हैं। हम यहां 30 दिनों में सीटीईटी जुलाई 2020 की तैयारी के लिए उपयुक्त युक्तियों और रणनीतियों के साथ हैं ताकि आप परीक्षा के दिन बेहतर प्रदर्शन कर सकें।

1. CTET परीक्षा पैटर्न 2020 को जानें: 

  • One hundred fifty questions are carrying a total of 150 marks and the maximum time allotted is 150 minutes.
  • The exam will be conducted via Offline Mode.
  • The question paper will consist of objective type questions. Question paper is divided into 5 sections and each section contains 30 questions.
  • There is no Negative Marking in the CTET exam.

Note: Mathematics and Science for Maths and Science teachers (Science Background students). Social Science is for Social Science teachers (Arts Background students)

2. Follow CTET Syllabus:

  • CTET Syllabus is different for the paper - 1 & Paper-II, During your preparation, try to cover the complete CTET exam syllabus.
  • CTET Paper - 1 includes Child Development & Pedagogy, Language-1,language-2, Environmental Studies, Mathematics.
  • CTET Paper - 2 includes Child Development & Pedagogy, Language-1,language-2, Social Studies or Mathematics & Science.
  • The question paper will be Bilingual (Hindi/English).
  • 20 Language options are available in the CTET notification, and Candidate can choose only two out of the given 20 languages.
  • For all the subjects that are mentioned in the syllabus, a study plan must be formulated to prepare each topic with precision.

How to prepare Child Development and Pedagogy for CTET 2020?

  • Child Development & Pedagogy is one of the essential subjects for CTET Exam. Most of the candidates are afraid of this section because of the vast syllabus and along with of theory. You are also required to understand the conceptual application.
  • Please note that it is just a myth that you cannot score well in the Child Development & Pedagogy section. If you have cleared all the concepts and theories, you will surely be able to score well. However, understanding of concepts becomes very challenging. 
  • In the CTET exam, 30 questions are asked from the Child development and pedagogy section.
  • Child Development:  Distribution of questions

    (i) Child Development (Primary School Child): 15 Questions

    In this section, you need to study more about thinkers and their ideology. The questions which were asked mainly based on the thinking and Principle of Thinkers.

    (ii) The concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with special needs: 5 Questions

    In this section, you need to put more focus on the particular attributes made for individual children.

    (iii) Learning and Pedagogy: 10 Questions

    Here, mainly the questions derived from the pedagogy of child behaviour. In the case of the unique child, most problems are based on the behaviour of the teacher.

  • Revise previous year question papers as possible. That will give you an idea as to what to expect in the exam. CTET repeats question often, so the practice of question paper gives you a fair idea about the paper pattern and the level of questions.

  • There are many mock tests available online. Try to attempt them as much as possible. The more you solve them, the more confident you will get.

How to prepare Mathematics for CTET 2020?

  • This section is comparatively easy for those who are good at calculations. Again, you can work on it through regular practice.
  • Practice Number series questions and get familiar with the common patterns.
  • You have to strengthen your command over Simplification & arithmetic topic, for this, try to learn the tables up to 25. It will save your calculation time and hence, increases your speed.
  • The practise is the only key which will help you understand the basics of the Data handling questions. Practice various types of questions to check your preparation level. Check and match your solutions after attempting, and you will get to know about your weak areas and then improve them accordingly
  • Practice mock tests regularly. 

How to prepare Language-I & II for CTET 2020?

  • First and foremost, read the question thoroughly to understand its requirement and then proceed accordingly. If you fail to understand what the question demands, it would be wise to skip it than waste time and marks over it.
  • Enhance your reading skills and practice a lot of questions.
  • Learn new words daily and increase your command over vocabulary.
  • Practice all the topics mentioned above regularly. 
  • To score well in the reading comprehension topic, you have to strengthen reading habits.
  • It is required to have proper grammar knowledge. It will help you in attempting error spotting, sentence correction, and improvement, phrase replacement topics etc. Learn all the error spotting rules of each question like articles, tenses, noun, pronoun, verb, adjective, and adverb etc.  
  • Practice questions of para jumble topic regularly, it will help you in quickly finding the arrangement of the paragraph.

 How to prepare Environmental Studies for CTET 2020?

  • Focus on the content provided in the books of NCERT. Revise the topics regularly.
  • Teaching methodology of Environment studies is of great importance. Read the questions related to approaches.
  • Topics like house, food, health and diseases are essential from the examination point of view so, try to attempt more and more quizzes on thee topics.
  • Make sure to read the topics of Indian geography and chapter summary of all the topics thoroughly. 
  • Concept and scope of EVS Significance of EVS & integrated EVS need some extra attention during revision time.
  • Some important topics are - Things We Make and Do, Concept and scope of EVS, Significance of EVS & integrated EVS, Environmental Studies & Environmental Education

How to prepare Concerned subjects (Social Science, Science & Mathematics) for CTET 2020?

  • Refer to the subject textbooks of NCERT. However, it’s important to remember that, the questions that are asked may be of a higher class than the one you are teaching or intend to teach, i.e. Paper-II, from classes 9 and 10.
  • Careful analysis of the previous years’ question papers will show you that some questions from each of these subjects have appeared in more than one paper.
  • For starters, you must go through the syllabus for the exam very carefully. It’s a good idea to take a print out of the syllabus from the official CTET site, for ready reference. As the area to be covered is vast, you may have to go through the syllabus often to avoid deviating from the topics of study.
  • Mark out some pet topics/questions by the frequency of their appearance in papers.
  • There is no negative marking so Don't leave any question blank in the exam.
  • Mathematics is very scoring subject if you are right in this subject, but if you are weak, they must learn the wise topic concept. In this section 1st attempt all easy question Like Simplification, Arithmetics and number system. The critical topic of this section is given below. If you are right in this Section, then easily score 25+ marks.
  • Science subject will ask in Paper-2 exams only for those students who want to become a science teacher. Candidates need practice quiz of this section and must practice previous year question. The essential topics of this section are - Observation/Experiment/Discovery (Method of Science), Approaches/Integrated Approach, Food & Nutrition, Text Material/Aids & Natural Science/Aims & objectives.

Important Points to remember while preparing for CTET

1. Pen down the essential topics:

  • Make a list of the issues that are frequently asked in the exam by referring to the previous year question papers.
  • Pay extra attention to such topics.
  • Revise the topics and practice questions related to such issues.

2. Work on your weak areas:

  • Identify the area you are weak in and have a scope for improvement.
  • Try to clarify all your doubts related to the topic at the earliest, so that you have time for revision.

3. Build up the basics:

  • Don't try to directly approach the questions first study the basic concept behind it. 
  • Try to understand the core of the subject.

4. Revise

  • Revise all the relevant topic daily.
  • Dedicate the last two weeks only for the revision.

6. Do not put new things on the table.

  • Do not try to learn anything new in the revision period as it will do no good instead may create confusion.
  • During the revision period, keep your focus on the topics you have already prepared.

7. Regular mock tests for excellence

  • Based on the mock test, you can manage time effectively.
  • You can analyse the section-wise score and improve your preparation rate.

8. Previous year paper for guidance

  • If you want to have a better insight of the CTET, refer to the prior-year question paper.
  • They will give you the idea of what you should expect from the exam.

9. Books can be your saviour

  • Rely on books for better guidance.
  • Always go for the quality of material and not the quantity.

10. Develop a time table and follow it strictly

  • Developing a personalised study plan is the right method of preparation in this limited time frame.
  • Make sure to follow the timetable without any lapse.
