CAT 2019 Analysis: IIM Kozhikode successfully conducted the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2019 exam at various centers across the country today. The forenoon slot was held from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm and the afternoon slot will be held from 2:30 pm. The Common Admission Test (CAT) is an annual admission test held by the IIMs for their PGP admissions.

The exam is held in an online (computer-based) mode and has 100 questions for a total of 300 marks to be attempted in 180 minutes (60 minutes per section).

CAT 2019 Analysis: Marking Scheme         

  • Marking Scheme

    • +3 marks for each correct answer
    • Negative marking of -1 mark for each incorrect answer
    • Number of  MCQs with negative marking - 70 to 75
    • Number of NON-MCQs without Negative Marking - 22-24

CAT 2019 Analysis: the Difficulty level of each section

  • The infamous QA section did live up to its name and failed to provide any reprieve to aspirants
  • The DILR section was also a notorious one this time
  • The level of the VARC section was the most difficult section of the exam. The RC passages were US-centric and had very close options.
