Aarogya Setu is a mobile application developed with the intent to help the citizens to identify the risk of contracting with the infection related to the ongoing outbreak.
It is developed by NIC (National Informatics Centre) of Ministry of Electronics and IT.
This app is available in 11 languages.
It uses a Bluetooth & location-generated social graph to track if someone has come in contact with the positive tested patient.
It also contains a self-testing tool wherein the user is exposed to a questionnaire. If the answers is suggestive of any of the symptoms then the information is sent to the government server for further steps.
The alerts are generated by the app if one comes in contact with someone who is tested positive which then is followed by the instructions on how to isolate and prevent the infection from spreading.
It has reached 50 million users in just 13 days which makes it the fastest ever globally for an app.
