  • Pronunciation: pyoo-er-il/प्यूअरिल

    a. behaving in a silly way, not like an adult

    b. to encroach; infringe (usually followed by on or upon)
    c. to strike; dash; collide (usually followed by on, upon, or against)

  • Meaning: 
    a. accept (a belief, theory, or change) willingly and enthusiastically.
  • Synonyms: hold, embody, accept, take in 
  • Antonyms: discard, reject, eliminate
  • Use in a Sentence: Some people are not willing to embrace new technologies.

6. Word: Sovereignty (आधिपत्य/स्वतंत्र राज्य)

  • Pronunciation: sov-rin-tee/साव्रिन्टी
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. the status, dominion, power, or authority of a sovereign;royal rank or position; royalty
    b. supreme and independent power or authority in government as possessed or claimed by a state or community

7. Word: Integrity (सत्यनिष्ठा/समग्रता)

  • Pronunciation: in-teg-ri-tee/इन्टेग्रिटी
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty
    b. the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished
    c. a sound, unimpaired, or perfect condition
  • Synonyms: honesty, morality, uprightness, virtue
  • Antonyms: dishonesty, deception, corruption
  • Usage in a sentence: He was a man of the highest personal integrity.

8. Word: Prejudicial (हानिकारक)

  • Pronunciation: prej-uh-dish-uh l /प्रेजुडिशल
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. harmful or influencing people unfairly
  • Synonyms: damaging, detrimental, injurious, harmful
  • Antonyms: convenient, beneficial, harmless
  • Usage in a sentence: The judge decided that allowing the video as evidence would be prejudicial to the outcome of the trial.

9. Word: Deter (डराना)

  • Pronunciation: dih-tur/ डिटर
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning: 
    a. discourage (someone) from doing something by instilling doubt or fear of the consequences.
  • Synonyms: discourage, dissuade, hinder
  • Antonyms: encourage, support, persuade
  • Usage in a sentence: These measures are designed to deter an enemy attack.

10. Phrase: Scratch the surface (ऊपरी तौर पर होना)

  • Pronunciation: skrach-th- sur-fis/स्क्रैच द सरफेस 
  • Meaning:
    a. to deal with only a small part of a subject or a problem
  • Synonyms: crape the surface, do only a fraction of what is possible, make a modest effort
  • Antonyms: examine something very closely
  • Usage in a sentence: All the payments we’ve made have hardly scratched the surface of the amount we borrowed.
