SBI CBO VS SBI PO Experience Required

Every recruitment for the post of Clerk or Probationary officer generally does not demand any experience. As these are meant for freshers or graduate jobs. But there are different criteria for SBI Circle-based officer recruitment.

  • SBI PO: No experience is required. Freshers can apply for this recruitment.
  • SBI CBO: Minimum 2 years experience as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or any Regional Rural Bank.

SBI CBO Salary VS SBI PO Salary

The starting salary of selected candidates will be on the scale of JMGS-I (₹ 23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850- 1310/7-42021), plus one increment for each completed year of service rendered in the officer cadre in the Scheduled Commercial Bank and Regional Rural Bank. ₹ 41,960/- (with 4 advance increments) in a scale of 36000-1490/7-46430-1740/2-49910-1990/7-63840.
Employee working as CBO will also be given benefits like D.A, H.R.A/ Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical, and other allowances & perquisites as per the rules of the bank. Employees will be eligible for HRA, DA, CCA, medical, travel, and other allowance as well.

SBI CBO VS SBI PO Eligibility Criteria

There are certain eligibility conditions like age criteria, educational qualification, etc that are needed to be fulfilled before you apply for any recruitment. Both SBI PO and SBI CBO demands certain eligibility conditions and the candidate must full fill them.

21 – 30 Years

Not above 30 years of age.
Educational Qualification Candidates must be a graduate. According to the previous notification, candidates who are in their final years can also apply for this post. Must be a Graduate of any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
Other Conditions

Aspirants who have pursued an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate must ensure about the date of passing should be as per the date bounded by the organizing authority.

Candidates with the degree of Chartered Accountant are also eligible to apply for the SBI PO recruitment process.

Candidates having a record of default in repayment of loans/ credit card dues and/ or against whose name adverse report of CIBIL or other external agencies are available are not eligible for SBI CBO recruitment 2021.

Candidates against whom there are any negative reports regarding the character and antecedents and moral turpitude will not be eligible to apply for SBI CBO recruitment.

SBI CBO VS SBI PO Job Profile

They will join as circle-based officers and will have to serve a probation period of 6 months.

Common tasks of a probationary officer may include – Gaining practical knowledge of various banking aspects, Customer Services (which may range from passbook printing to account opening and much more), supervision of clerical work, Loan Processing, etc.

After the probation period, SBI PO needs to undergo a screening procedure, qualifying which he/she will be confirmed as Officer Middle Management Grade Scale-II. During probation, their consistency and effectiveness with the work are observed.

The job profile of SBI PO is highly versatile and may demand the officer to engage in clerical work according to the needs.

SBI CBO VS SBI PO Probation Period

SBI CBO SBI PO
6 months of probation is required as the selection is done on the basis of experience. SBI PO will have to serve a probation period of at least 2 years.
They will not be allowed for the transfer up to their promotion to SMGS-IV or 12 years of service whichever is late. An employee can take a transfer after completing 2-3 years of service through inter-circle transfer.
