The interview is one of the most important parts of the SSB. As previously discussed the ‘Mansa’, ‘Karma’ and ‘Vacha’, the interview is a test of ‘Vacha’.

The SSB interview is an interaction of a candidate with the interviewing officer about himself. The Interviewing Officer asks questions with the candidate to test whether he/she is suitable enough to lead men.

Important Questions asked in SSB Interview

The questions that are asked are related to normal life and are simple in nature, but the way of answering is the crux to crack the SSB interview. Here also the Interviewing officer is testing for the Officer Like Qualities in candidates.

One more important point to keep in mind is that the OLQ’s represented in the Psych Test & ongoing GTO should be carried over to the Interview as well. During the Interview, the IO (Interviewing Officer) should not feel that the person was faking a particular quality.

The questions that are asked by the IO are based on what you have written in your PIQ (Personal Interview Questionnaire), Self-Description Test (SDT), and your blank story. These documents he already goes through before you have an interaction with him.

Aim of Rapid Fire Questions:

The purpose of Rapid Fire questions is to judge your overall personality, mental stamina, power of expression, patience, logical reasoning, confidence, and grasping ability.

Interviewing Officer will first make sure you are comfortable enough and then begin with rapid-fire questions. His aim is to ask you 10 to 15 questions at one go. He might interrupt you in between your answers. You are expected to answer all the questions with the same speed and order

A Candidate is expected to be quick, audible and confident. Rapid-fire questions can be related to your friends, education, family, your teachers, subjects, sports you like, your interests, etc.

All of the questions are simple and easy to answer. Everything asked is based upon the info provided in your PIQ form and Self-description test.

Here are some Tips and Tricks to tackle Rapid Fire Questions

  • Keep your hands on your thighs and count the number of questions on your fingers or in your mind, without being noticed by the IO to remember the number of questions asked by the Interviewing Officer.
  • Note Practice this trick with any of your friends before going for the actual interview. Only then, you will be able to implement it precisely.
  • Pay attention to the IO very attentively. Remember the questions by keywords for example:-

You need to practice this trick to be efficient during the actual interview.

  • It is okay if you forget a few questions, but try to stick to the same order in which IO asked the questions.
  • If you are able to answer more than 10 questions in the same sequence out of all 5 questions, you will be good. Interviewing officer just wants to check your memory and presence of mind.
