Question 3:
A man can row 5 km/hr in still water and the velocity of the stream is 1.5 km/hr. He takes an hour when he travels upstream to a place and back again to the starting point. How far is the place from the starting point?

(1)  2.5 km

(2)  6.5 km

(3)  3.5 km

(4)  2.275 km

Solution: (4)

Let the distance of the place from the starting point be x km
