Unlike many other government services' exams which are conducted for a specified number of vacancies in various posts, UPSSSC PET is going to be conducted as a standard test for candidates to make them eligible for all upcoming Group C vacancies in the state government. Through this exam, candidates will be saved from filing separate forms for every exam and appearing for multiple exams in the same year. It also means that candidates will have to perform well in this exam to be eligible for upcoming vacancies, as there will be no separate exams.

UPSSSC PET Salary
According to the official notification, UPSSSC PET will be conducted for Group C(समूह ग) in the state government. This means that this exam will be valid for multiple posts in multiple departments of the state government. There will be various posts that candidates will get to choose from based on their scores in the PET exam.
In the official notification, it has been mentioned that PET exam will be conducted for the posts which have their salary above Pay Scale 1 (5200-20200) Grade pay 1900/- and below Pay Scale 2 (9300-34800) Grade Pay 4600/-.
Apart from the basic, there are various perks associated with the posts as well like DA, HRA, traveling allowance, etc. as well, which takes the in-hand salary from Rs 25000 to Rs 37000 initially depending on the post.
UPSSSC PET Job Profile
As mentioned above there is no defined post or vacancy in the official notification of the UPSSSC PET exam. But we do know that the posts that will be covered in the exam will be of Group C level. Hence we will try to get an idea of which posts are covered in UP in Group C and what are their basic functions.
