DSSSB TGT Syllabus 2023: Subject Wise

Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board sets the DSSSB TGT syllabus. Lakhs of candidates appear for the DSSSB exam in the hope of becoming a teacher. The competition level in the TGT exam is very high. Hence aspirants should familiarize themselves with the TGT syllabus to have a clear concept of the various topics covered in the exam. One aspect of preparation that every successful candidate has is familiarity with the DSSSB TGT syllabus.

Section-A General Awareness
  • Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s General Awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society.
  • The questions will be designed to test knowledge of Current Events and of such matters of everyday observation as may be expected of an educated person.
  • The test will also include questions relating to History, Polity, Constitution, Sports, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, Everyday Science, Scientific Research, National/International Organizations/Institutions, etc.
  General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability
  • The syllabus of General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability includes questions of both verbal and non-verbal types.
  • The test may include questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship, concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, etc.
  Arithmetical & Numerical Ability
  • The test of Arithmetical and Numerical Abilities will cover Number of Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Data Interpretation, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc.
  Hindi Language & Comprehension
  • Testing of candidate’s understanding and comprehension of the Hindi Language.
  • In addition to this, questions on Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, and their correct usage, etc. would also be covered.
  English Language & Comprehension
  • Testing of candidate’s understanding and comprehension of the English Language.
  • In addition to this, questions on its Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, and their correct usage, etc. would also be covered
Section B Post specific subject-related questions
  • Objective Type (Multiple Choice Questions) on the subject concerned as per the qualification

DSSSB TGT Preparation Tips and Strategy in 1 Month

DSSSB TGT exam preparation requires a lot of time and effort. The following tips have been drawn up after extensively studying toppers’ strategies for the TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) exam.  Knowing the syllabus is half the battle won as this helps save time and effort. It is important to check all DSSSB Preparation tips to excel in the exam. Many aspirants make the mistake of studying everything under the sun for each subject and end up diluting their efforts. This should be avoided at all costs. The DSSSB TGT preparation strategy should include a well-planned schedule of study. Aspirants should aim to cover portions of the teaching exam syllabus sequentially and include revision of topics periodically. Check the tips below:

1. Syllabus: Prepare a list of the syllabus in a handwritten or print-out form and paste it near your study table so that maximum time you keep your eyes on it and have an idea of how much syllabus is left. Divide the syllabus into units and units into topics. As 1 month is less time so just focus on the most important and familiar topics that you have studied so far.

Section- B:-MCQs of one mark each from the subject concerned including questions on teaching methodology/B.Ed.- 100 Marks

Negative Marking A deduction of 0.25 marks will be made for each wrong MCQ answer.
Special Note Candidates have to qualify in Sections A & B separately as per their category (UR/OBC/SC/ST/PH/Ex-Serviceman) minimum qualifying marks. However, final merit will be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks of both the section A & B 

2. Time Management: Try to devote maximum time as less time is left, 12 to 14 hours in a day only helps you to qualify for the exam as the syllabus is vast and time is less. Time is the only key to obtaining a government job so keep other priorities aside and start focusing only on the exam preparation.

3. Previous Year Question Papers: Practice as much as you can, DSSSB previous year question papers help you to track your performance level, accuracy, and speed can also be improved by attempting them.

4. Mock Test: Attempting a DSSSB mock test helps one to know how much they need to learn more and how much they have learned so far.

5. Eat a Healthy Diet: It is advisable to avoid having junk food during the examination preparation duration. Have fruits and lemonade only in order to gain vitamins.

6. Refer to limited Books: Just read one book for each subject that covers a maximum part of the syllabus. It is advisable to complete NCERT Books first and then refer to other books.

7. Prepare one-liner: It is advisable to prepare a one-liner simultaneously as you read any topic so that it can be fruitful at the last moment for the preparation.

8. Avoid interacting with friends: As the 1 month is the life-changer month that can help you to get a government job so try to interact less or have no interaction with friends those can create trouble in your preparation.

9. Revision: Keep on revising the topic learned daily so that you do not forget what you have studied so far.
