SLAT Exam Date and Exam Timings: Know About Exam Day Check List & Guidelines

Candidates must have a computer system with active internet access in order to take the SLAT 2021. Artificial intelligence tools and webcam technologies will be used to supervise the SET Law online exam. Candidates must adhere to certain SLAT exam day guidelines as outlined on this page when taking the examination. Symbiosis National University will conduct the SLAT 2021 test for admission for BA LLB and BBA LLB courses offered by the affiliated law schools. A writing assessment test will be conducted after the objective test. SET Law will consist of 60 objective-type questions to be asked from topics such as current affairs, general knowledge, legal and logical aptitude.

The programs offered by the law school include BA LLB and BBA LLB having a capacity of 1080 seats across 4 campuses SLS Pune, SLS Noida, SLS Nagpur, SLS Hyderabad.

SLAT 2021 Slots and Exam Time

SLAT 2021 Exam Day – Infrastructure Readiness Check (IRC)

In this step, it has to be ensured that your systems and internet bandwidth, and speed are as per the requirement of completing the concerned remote assessment test. The following factors will be checked on your system:

1. Operating System

2. Browser version and the security setting of your system will be checked

3. Bandwith of Internet Download/Upload will be checked

4. Configuration of the Camera and its resolution will be checked

5. Any other software installed in the computer (like anti-virus, permissions to write in the disk, etc.)

Every Examinee can get this check done as per their convenience as this step will be performed over a 3-day period. On completion, these steps will ensure that your system is ready for the exam. In case you face any issues during this process, you will have the ability to communicate the issue to the Technical Helpdesk. 

SLAT 2021 Exam Day -Launcher Details

Future assessments can be done once the IBA Launcher is downloaded. It is not needed to be downloaded every time before the assessment.

SLAT 2021 Exam Day – Data Quality Check

The goal of this exercise is to verify whether the exam responses along with images/videos captured are reaching the universities platform without any loss and they are able to access and process the same. The following will be checked in this phase:

1. Responses to the Question,

2. Streaming of Videos

3. Captured Images

The candidate will be connected and guided to do the right set of corrective steps if in any case, the information received at the universities end is having any challenge. All the candidates can simultaneously participate in the examination without any lag is the sole purpose of this step.

 The following will be checked in this phase:

1. All candidates’ infrastructure is ready
2. All information from the candidate is received by our platform without any loss.
3. A real-exam feel is given to the candidate and the concurrent loads on the systems are checked.

SLAT 2021 Exam Day Instructions

• In case of any laptop/desktop malfunction or loss of internet connectivity –

1. Your network and power cables should be checked.

2. When the connection is restored Login again. The exam will resume from the point where it had stopped.

Note: One should log in within 10 minutes of the start time, in order to avoid any loss of time from your allotted exam duration.

• In case of any other issues –

1. The candidate should select the appropriate category of help displayed in the drop-down menu on their screen – a proctor will contact you in case of an emergency.

2. At the end of the assessment please provide any feedback on the questions/ assessment.

3. Be mindful that this is a “Remote Proctored” assessment and all your actions are being monitored by artificial intelligence/machine learning technologies.

SLAT 2021 Process of Selection  

As per the notification released by Symbiosis Law School, for 2021, the selection of the courses offered shall be based on 3 rounds based on which the candidates shall be evaluated and the final merit list shall be prepared.

• First, a common entrance test shall be conducted for the affiliated law schools.

• Secondly, immediately after the test is conducted, the writing ability of the candidate shall be tested in a time duration of 30 minutes (WAT). However, the marks or marking scheme of the same is not disclosed.

• And Lastly, the personal interview round.

Based on all the abovementioned criteria a candidate shall be evaluated and ultimately be given admission into law school.

SLAT Paper Pattern 2021

The pattern of the SLAT Exam is the Multiple Choice Question Method. There is no negative marking.  However, the 2021 SLAT exam has made some significant changes in the evaluation criterion from the past. The total number of questions asked as well as the total duration of the test has been significantly reduced.

•         In 2021, SLAT shall consist of 60 MCQs of 1 mark each which shall be required to be attempted in 60 minutes followed by a 30 minute WAT (Writing ability test).

After the test is conducted some selected candidates are called for a personal interview (PI) test after which the final selection is made.

Interview Preparation for SET Law

• No one can foresee what exactly an interviewer is going to ask in the PI test. But there are a few things based on past experiences of candidates that can be prepared beforehand and which may come in handy while appearing for the PI.

• The interview begins with a general question about the candidate as to what his name is/father’s name etc. Then the interviewer goes on to ask questions to test your clarity as to whether you know what exactly you are doing.

• They may ask you as to why you chose the field for which you appeared in the examination. What is so special about Symbiosis that brought you there. Further, while preparing for the PI test, you should also keep in mind that you are thorough with the fundamentals of the examination for which you have appeared. It is much likely that they are going to ask you fundamental questions related to the course for which you have applied.

• Last but not the least, in the interview, what matters the most is a cool and clear head and confidence with which you are answering the questions.
