How can I get PhD at Sikkim University?

Sikkim University Application Form 2021 for PhD Admission
Step 1: Go to the official website and click Admission 2021-22 on the left corner (or click on the link below to go to the portal directly).
Step 2: Scroll down the page and click on "click here to apply".
Step 3: On the next page, fill in the required field to register yourself. Check your mail for OTP and complete the registration process.
Step 4: Log in to the portal with the email and password, click on complete profile.
Step 5: The form will be opened, make sure you fill in every required area and check it before submitting.
Step 6: Upload photo and signature and pay the application fees.
Step 7: Make sure to take a printout of the final application form for future references.

Sikkim University PhD Admission Criteria
Check the details about who can apply for Sikkim University PhD Admission 2021-22
- Candidates with at least 55% marks or equivalent with a master degree in the relevant subject.
- There will be a relaxation of 5% in the case of SC, ST and OBC, candidates with 50% marks can apply for M.Phil and doctoral programs.
- The M.Phil / PhD project requires written examination and interview, UGC NET (including JRF) / UGC CSIR-NET (including JRF), /ICAR-NET/ICMR-NET/DBT-NET/ SLET / GATE/teacher scholarship and M.Phil. graduates of the regular mode, completed a semester of work in this course, will get a weightage of 10%.
Seat Reservations:
- 10% of the quota will be reserved for foreign candidates on the supernumerary basis in the M.Phil./PhD program, as long as the qualifying examination results are equivalent to the qualifications stipulated by the AIU Equivalence Committee, and the student visa and doctor's qualification certificate are presented.
- Applicants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, Myanmar, Pakistan and other countries can be admitted as long as they are especially recommended by the Cultural Relations Committee of the Government of India within the framework of the exchange program.
- However, candidates from Nepal and Bhutan can be admitted under this rule.
- Candidates admitted under this regulation are not eligible for UGC Non-Net scholarships.

Sikkim University M.Phil/PhD Entrance Syllabus
- The exam paper will have two parts.
- Part A- It consists of research methodology.
- Part B- The questions in this section will be subject-specific.
- The total score for the entrance examination is 70, and the total marks for the interview are 30. So the total becomes 100 marks.
Qualifying Marks for Written test:
- The qualifying mark in the written examination for M.Phil/Ph.D is 50% [45% for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy).
Sikkim University Fee Structure
- The PhD/ M.Phil admission fees for 2021 in Sikkim University for all subjects will be 12,310/- Rupees.
- The per semester fee for PhD/ M.Phi courses at Sikkim University will be Rs. 1,100/- for all courses except Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Horticulture, Microbiology, Physics and Zoology.
- For Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Horticulture, Microbiology, Physics and Zoology the fees will be Rs. 3,300/- per semester.
Exemptions: Differently abled persons, Wards of people ofYangangwho sold their lands for SikkimUniversity campus, Students belonging to the“PrimitiveTribe” of Sikkim, Hostel Seat Rent for SC/ST students will have 100% fee relaxation. Sikkim University Employees, Wards of Sikkim University Employees, Yangang Villagers will be granted 50% relaxation in fees.
