BPSC AE Syllabus: Exam Pattern
The BPSC AE Exam carries a total of 600 marks. Out of the total of 600 marks, 200 marks paper will be only qualifying in nature while 400 marks are allotted for the compulsory papers and in which 200 marks are allotted for the optional papers ie concerned discipline. Each paper consists of 100 Marks.
- The BPSC AE compulsory paper consists of 4 subjects that are, General Engineering Science, General English, General Hindi, General Studies.
- The BPSC AE optional paper consists of the core engineering paper i.e. Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering – 1 and Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering – 2
- Candidates need to score a minimum of 30 marks in the compulsory and qualifying papers, English and Hindi in order to get the optional sheet check.
- The BPSC AE examination will be of objective type ( Multiple choice questions).
- The exam will be conducted for 1 hr for each subject paper.
- There will be a penalty for each wrong answer of 0.25 per wrong answer in the BPSC AE Exam

BPSC AE Syllabus for the optional paper will be based on the engineering subject as per your qualification. Each optional paper of the BPSC Asst. Engineer syllabus will have two papers as discussed below.

Qualifying Marks for BPSC AE Exam
BPSC has specified the qualifying marks as per the category of the candidate for the BPSC assistant engineer exam. The minimum qualifying marks for BPSC AE for each category is as follows:
