As of 2009, the "Lecturer" and "Senior Professor" positions of the technical course are included in the AICTE standards, and only the "Assistant Professor", "Associate Professor" and "Professor" positions remain.
Currently, graduate students can teach as assistant professors, but permanent status is only possible after passing the qualification exam i.e National Eligibility Test (NET). To be promoted to an associate professor, you need at least three publications (famous journals) for graduate school and at least one publication for a doctoral course.
However, a PhD is required for direct employment as an associate professor. Only doctoral degrees are awarded to professors. Individuals with graduate degrees with different qualifications (such as NET / SET) can teach at an undergraduate, graduate, or university.
