  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. regressing or tending to regress; retrogressive
    b. Biology. of, relating to, or effecting regression
    c. (of tax) decreasing proportionately with an increase in the tax base
    d. Logic. obtained from or characterized by backward reasoning
  • Synonyms: backward, reactionary, retrograde
  • Antonyms: progressive, advanced, future proof
  • Usage in a sentence: The movement will defeat the autocratic and regressive regime.

4. Word: Grave (समाधि, गंभीर)

  • Pronunciation: greyv/ ग्रेव
  • Part of Speech: Noun, Adjective
  • Meaning
    a. a hole dug in the ground to receive a coffin or dead body, typically marked by a stone or mound. (Noun)
    b. giving cause for alarm; serious. (Adjective)
    c. serious or solemn in manner or appearance. (Adjective)

  • Antonyms: silly, ridiculous, frivolous, hilarious

  • Meaning:

  • Meaning:
    a. to (cause someone or something to) move or fall suddenly and often a long way forward, down, or into something
    b. to become lower in value or level very suddenly and quickly

    b. peril or danger
    c. Law. the danger or hazard of being found guilty, and of consequent punishment

  • Usage in a sentence: The lives of thousands of birds are in jeopardy as a result of the oil spill.

9.  WordBelligerent (लड़ाकू)

  • Meaning: hostile and aggressive.
