2. Word: Patronage (प्रतिपालन,वृत्ति देने का अधिकार)

  • Pronunciation: pey-truh-nij/ पैट्रनज
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning
    a. the support given by a patron.
    b. the power to control appointments to office or the right to privileges.
    c. the regular custom attracted by a shop, restaurant, etc.
  • Synonyms: support, aegis, backing, protection
  • Antonyms: opposition, competition, antagonism, nonalignment
  • Usage in a Sentence: The college relied on the patronage of its wealthy graduates to expand its funds.

3. Word: Endure (भुगतना)

  • Pronunciation: en-doo r/इन्डुर
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning: 
    a. suffer (something painful or difficult) patiently.
    b. remain in existence; last.
  • Synonyms: tolerate, abide
  • Antonyms: cease, dismiss
  • Use in a Sentence: The pain was almost too great to endure.

4.  Word: Potent (प्रभावकारी)

  • Pronunciation: poht-nt/पोटन्ट
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning: 
    a. having great power, influence, or effect.
  • Synonyms: powerful, influential
  • Antonyms: weak, incapable
  • Use in a Sentence: The medicine had a potent effect on your disease.

5. Word: Arbitrary (अनियन्त्रित)

  • Pronunciation: ahr-bi-trer-ee/आर्बिट्रेरी
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. subject to individual will or judgment without restriction; contingent solely upon one's discretion
    b. decided by a judge or arbiter rather than by a law or statute
  • Synonyms: random, dictatorial, absolute
  • Antonyms: circumspect, rational, fair
  • Usage in a sentence: Did you have a reason for choosing your destination or was it arbitrary?

6. Word: Intrusive (हस्तक्षेप करने वाले)

  • Pronunciation: in-troo-siv/ इन्ट्रूसिव 
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. tending or apt to intrude; coming without invitation or welcome:
    b. intrusive memories of a lost love.
  • Synonyms: nosy, meddlesome, prying
  • Antonyms: protrusive, taciturn, bulging 
  • Usage in a sentence: She felt her presence there was intrusive.

7. Word: Hypocrisy (ढोंग)

  •  Pronunciation: hi-pok-ruh-see/हिपाक्रसी
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: 
    a. a pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess
    b. a pretense of having some desirable or publicly approved attitude
    c. an act or instance of hypocrisy
  • Synonyms: insincerity, deceit, deception
  • Antonyms: honesty, sincerity, truth
  • Usage in a sentence: I'm amazed at the hypocrisy of the man - buying a foreign car after urging everyone else to buy British products.

8. Word: Alleged (कथित)

  • Pronunciationuh-lejd/ अलेज्ड
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning: said, without proof, to have taken place or to have a specified illegal or undesirable quality.
  • Synonyms: supposed, claimed, assumed, stated, presumed
  • Antonyms: confirmed, indisputable, authentic
  • Usage in a Sentence: The state investigation found more alleged crimes than the internal investigations uncovered.

9. Word: Contentious (कलहप्रिय)

  • Pronunciation: kuh n-ten-shuh s/कन्टेन्शस
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning: 
    a. causing or likely to cause an argument; controversial.
    b. involving a heated argument.
  • Synonyms: quarrelsome, combative, belligerent
  • Antonyms: pacifist, friendly, amicable
  • Use in a Sentence: She has some contentious opinions on education.

10. Word: Coercive (बलपूर्वक)

  • Pronunciation: co-ar-cive/ कोअर्सिव
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning: relating to or using force or threats.
  • Synonyms: authoritarian, imperious, high-handed.
  • Antonyms: conditional ,constitutional ,discretionary
  • Usage in a Sentence: The president relied on the coercive powers of the military.
