  • Meaning: a cunning plan or action designed to turn a situation to one's own advantage.
  • Synonyms: trick, artifice, dodge
  • Antonyms: vitiate, idle

  • Parts of speech: Verb
  • Meaning:  to show or illustrate by example

5. Word: Protocol (अंतरराष्ट्रीय संधि का मूल पत्र/संलेख)

  • Pronunciation: proh-tuh-kawl/प्रोटकॉल 
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. the system of rules and acceptable behavior used at official ceremonies and occasions
    b. a formal international agreement
    c. a computer language allowing computers that are connected to each other to communicate
  • Synonyms: convention, treaty, decorum
  • Usage in a sentence: According to the protocol, the new ambassador will present his credentials to the president.

6. WordPunitive (दण्डकर)

  • Pronunciation: pyoo-ni-tiv/प्यूनिटिव
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning: inflicting or intended as punishment.
  • Synonyms: harsh, corrective
  • Antonyms: rehabilitative, rewarding
  • Usage in a Sentence: The government is expected to take punitive steps against offenders.

7. Word: Tamp (ठूंसना, ठूंस ठूंसकर बराबर करना)

  • Pronunciation: टैम्प/tamp
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning: to press something such as soil or tobacco down firmly
