  • Part of Speech: Noun, Verb
  • Meaning
    a. extreme tiredness resulting from mental or physical exertion or illness. [Noun]
    b. cause (someone) to feel exhausted. [Verb]
  • Synonyms: exhaustion, tiredness, drain
  • Antonyms: energize, refresh, vigour, liveliness
  • Usage in a Sentence: His reaction was the product of hunger and fatigue.

3. Word: Probe (जांच करना)

  • Pronunciation: prohb/ प्रोब
  • Part of Speech: Noun, Verb 
  • Meaning: 
    a. a thorough investigation into a crime or other matter. [Noun]
    b. explore or examine (something), especially with the hands or an instrument. [Verb]
  • Synonyms: scrutinize, inquiry
  • Antonyms: glimpse, absurd
  • Usage in a Sentence: I don't want to probe too deeply into your personal affairs.

4.  Word: Haste (तेज़ी)

  • Pronunciation: heyst/हेस्ट
  • Part of speech: Noun
  • Meaning
    a. swiftness of motion; speed; celerity
    b. urgent need of quick action; a hurry or rush 
    c. unnecessarily quick action; thoughtless, rash, or undue speed 
  • Synonyms: rush, hurry, speed, hustle
  • Antonyms: slowness, delay, sluggishness
  • Usage in a sentence: Unfortunately the report was prepared in haste and contained several inaccuracies.

5. Phrase: Gloss over (छिपाना)

  • Pronunciation: gloss-over/ग्लास ओवर
  • Meaning:
    a. to avoid considering something, such as an embarrassing mistake, to make it seem not important, and to quickly continue talking about something else
    b. to hide under a deceptively attractive surface or appearance
  • Synonyms: cover up, hide, disregard
  • Antonyms: emphasise, focus, interact
  • Usage in a sentence: She glossed over the company's declining profits.

6. Word: Pursuit (अनुसरण, कोशिश)

  • Pronunciation: per-soot/ पर्सूट
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. the action of pursuing someone or something.
    b. an activity of a specified kind, especially a recreational or sporting one.
  • Synonyms: work, enterprise, mission, seeking
  • Antonyms: retreat, surrender, detest
  • Usage in a Sentence: She travelled the world in pursuit of her dreams.

7. Word: Aversion (विमुखता)

  • Pronunciation: uh-vur-zhuhn/ अवर्श़न
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning
    a. a strong dislike or disinclination.
    b. someone or something that arouses a strong dislike or disinclination.
  • Synonyms: antipathy, distaste, abhorrence, loathing, disgust
  • Antonyms: desire, alacrity, passion, affinity
  • Usage in a Sentence: I simply have this ingrained aversion to the sight of bloodshed.

8. Word: Well-Worn (जर्जर)

  • Pronunciation: well-warn/वेल वोर्न
  • Part of Speech: Adjective 
  • Meaning:
    a. showing the effects of extensive use or wear
    b. trite, hackneyed, or stale
    c. fittingly or becomingly worn or borne
  • Synonyms: hackneyed, trite, threadbare
  • Antonyms: fresh, new, original, pleasing
  • Usage in a sentence: Ecology can be written about without relying on well-worn examples such as tropical rain forests. 

9. Word: Syndrome (परिलक्षण)

  • Pronunciation: sin-drohm/ सिन्ड्रोम
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning
    a. a group of symptoms which consistently occur together, or a condition characterized by a set of associated symptoms.
    b. a characteristic combination of opinions, emotions, or behaviour.
  • Synonyms: disorder, disease, illness, symptom, condition, infirmity
  • Usage in a Sentence: Mendez was born with the rare disorder tetra-amelia syndrome and was unable to play football growing up despite his passion for the sport

10. Word: Outbreak (प्रकोप)

  • Pronunciationout-breyk/ आउट्ब्रेक
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: a sudden breaking out or occurrence
  • Synonyms: epidemic, eruption, explosion
  • Antonyms: calm, end, finish
  • Usage in a Sentence: They reported a sudden outbreak of the disease in the south of the country.
