Here in this article, we are providing an English Exercise on Adjective based on our English Master Series Module -8. 

This Exercise will be very helpful while solving the questions of Spotting Errors and Fill in the blanks.

SOLUTION

1. A non banking financial company is a financial institution similar to a bank 

but it cannot issue cheque books to customers.

Explanation – Similarly is an adverb, that qualifies a verb. Similar must come here because an adjective qualifies a noun.

2.  Everyone agrees that the Ganga is the holiest of all the rivers of India.

Explanation –  change all other rivers into all the rivers.

3.  Krishna ran to the nearby grocery store to buy biscuits as his parents were expecting guests.

Explanation –change nearing into nearby.

4. While giving a loan you must check if the borrower has sufficient collateral to repay it.

Explanation – Sufficient explains the quality of collateral which is a noun. Sufficiently is an adverb.

5. Although his speech was not very clear everyone understood the underlying meaning.

Explanation – Clearly is an adverb, which qualifies a verb. Clear explains the quality of speech.
